Ρώμη και Βρυξέλλες πλησιάζουν σε... απόσταση αναπνοής από το Βόλο. Οι παρθενικές πτήσεις της υπ’ αριθμόν ένα χαμηλού κόστους αεροπορικής εταιρίας στην Ευρώπη, της Ryanair, για τους δύο νέους προορισμούς που έβαλε από το 2011 στα πλάνα της έχουν προγραμματιστεί για το τέλος Μαρτίου. Ταυτόχρονα, με μεγάλες και τη φετινή σεζόν -όπως εκτιμάται- πληρότητες θα συνεχιστούν οι τακτικές πτήσεις για Μιλάνο και Φρανκφούρτη. Φέτος όμως η διάρκειά τους επιμηκύνεται, καθώς το πεντάμηνο των πτήσεων μετατρέπεται σε επτάμηνο.
Με μεγάλες πληρότητες φαίνεται ότι θα αναχωρήσουν οι πρώτες πτήσεις για Ρώμη(Ciampino). Τα πρώτα χαμηλού κόστους εισιτήρια φαίνεται από το site της εταιρίας, μέσω του οποίου γίνονται κρατήσεις, ότι εξαντλούνται ήδη, 2,5 μήνες πριν σηκώσουν «αυλαία».
Η επίσκεψη στο www.bookryanair.com για ηλεκτρονική κράτηση εισιτηρίων με τις πρώτες πτήσεις στην «Αιώνια Πόλη» δείχνουν ότι οι θέσεις στις χαμηλές χρεώσεις είναι ελάχιστες.
Από μία έως τρεις ή τέσσερις θέσεις χαμηλού κόστους έχουν απομείνει στις πτήσεις της Ryanair από Βόλο για Ρώμη και αντίστροφα. Όσο η πληρότητα αυξάνει, τόσο οι τιμές ανεβαίνουν, αλλά το κόστος τους παραμένει ιδιαίτερα προσιτό.
Ενδεικτικά, εάν χθες κάποιος ήθελε να προγραμματίσει το ταξίδι του στην πρωτεύουσα της Ιταλίας, με την παρθενική πτήση της γραμμής, την Τρίτη 29 Μαρτίου 2011, θα διαπίστωνε ότι είχαν απομείνει μόλις τρεις θέσεις με χρέωση 31,99 ευρώ. Εάν επέλεγε να επιστρέψει από τη Ρώμη το Σάββατο 2 Απριλίου, τότε με την ίδια χρέωση (31,99 ευρώ) θα έβρισκε διαθέσιμες μόλις δύο θέσεις.
Σε κάθε περίπτωση οι πρώτοι επιβάτες των πτήσεων της Ryanair θα ταξιδέψουν για Ρώμη με επιστροφή από 75,98 ευρώ (συμπεριλαμβανομένου του on line check-in), δηλαδή φθηνότερο από την αμόλυβδη βενζίνη που απαιτεί το ταξίδι από Βόλο για Αθήνα και αντίστροφα.
Από 61,98 ευρώ ξεκινούν οι τιμές των εισιτηρίων με επιστροφή των πρώτων πτήσεων για Βρυξέλλες(Charleroi), που ξεκινούν την Τρίτη 29 Μαρτίου 2011.
Αντίστοιχες είναι οι τιμές των εισιτηρίων της Ryanair από το αεροδρόμιο Νέας Αγχιάλου για Μιλάνο και Φρανκφούρτη, που επαναρχίζουν από την Κυριακή 27 Μαρτίου. Το 2010 οι πληρότητες των πτήσεων για τους δύο ευρωπαϊκούς προορισμούς έφτασαν στο εντυπωσιακό ποσοστό του 85%.
Έτσι, από το τέλος Μαρτίου του 2011 η Ryanair θα εκτελεί συνολικά τέσσερα δρομολόγια –μαζί με του Μιλάνο και της Φρανκφούρτης που ξεκίνησαν από πέρυσι- αυξάνοντας την κίνηση, μεταφέροντας 50.000 επιβάτες το χρόνο και διατηρώντας 50 θέσεις εργασίας στην περιοχή.
Η Air Berlin και από πέρυσι η Ryanair δημιούργησαν στέρεες πλέον βάσεις για να «απογειωθεί» ακόμη πιο ψηλά το τοπικό αεροδρόμιο.
Η Air Berlin συνδέει το Βόλο με τη Νυρεμβέργη και μέσω αυτής με άλλες τέσσερις γερμανικές πόλεις: Αμβούργο, Βερολίνο, Βιέννη, Ντίσελντορφ και επέκτεινε τις γραμμές της με απευθείας δρομολόγια Ντίσελντορφ-Βόλος και Ντίσελντορφ-Σκιάθος και Λονδίνο.
Από τον Απρίλιο, στο μεταξύ, ένας νέος προορισμός προστίθεται στο ταμπλό αναχωρήσεων του αεροδρομίου Νέας Αγχιάλου. Πρόκειται για το Άμστερνταμ με πτήσεις της Transavia, με εισιτήριο, εκτός των πτήσεων τσάρτερ.

- Let this be clear: Hostel Katerina is not just an ordinary hotel! It is the typically Greek mixture of a hotel and a room for rent: you rent a room and you are completely independent, but Katerina and the Fotopoulos family are always there when you need them. They can make your breakfast if you ask for it; if you don't, you can use the tables and chairs in the central place to eat the breakfast you prepared yourself. For the other meals it's the same: you can walk or drive to one of the many restaurants in Agios Ioannis or Damouhari or you can prepare something yourself in the kitchenette and eat it either on your balcony or in the central place.
Where
Hostel Katerina is situated above the quiet Papa Nero beach, and down the village of Mouresi, between Agios Ioannis and Damouchari, on the Pilion peninsula, at approximately half way between Athens and Thessaloniki in continental Greece.
For those who only visit Greek islands: the Pilion is the peninsula close to the island of Skiathos the central place.
From the hostel, you have a beautiful view on the Aegean sea and on Papa Nero beach.
Social life in Hostel Katerina is concentrated on the central terrace. Most of the time you can find Katerina or her parents here. They live in the ground floor of the building on this picture; it isn't really the ground floor, a lower part of the house is accessible via the stairs on the left.Three guest rooms are situated on the first floor of that same building.
On the right side of the first and the second picture you can see the beginning of the path leading to the asphalt road. That path is fairly steep, partly in the form of stairs, partly on rocks, and unfortunately not suitable for handicapped persons. At the other side of the central terrace you can see a glimpse of the second building of Hostel Katerina, which houses most of the guest rooms.
The stairs lead to the two apartments and one other room. Under the stairs you see the beginning of a corridor giving access to five other rooms. If you go up the stairs you reach the entrance to the apartments. The entrance is at ground level, however on the other side of the building the balconies of the apartments are on the second floor.
If you walk through the corridor you will find an open air shower on your way to the beach (however most guests use it on their way back from the sea to their rooms). The shower has warm and cold water (although it cannot be guaranteed that the cold water is really cold when the average afternoon temperature in July and August is around 30°C).
From the shower a path leads down to the Papa Nero beach. It took your webmaster and his 4 years old daughter a few minutes to go down to the beach, and a few minutes more to climb back to Hostel Katerina.
The path ends at the southern end of the beach; and is clearly indicated with this blue sign.Once again it should be pointed out that unfortunately this kind of path is not suitable for handicapped persons.
